ENGLEWOOD, N.J. (AP) - State Senate President Stephen Sweeney says that any bill to raise money for the beleaguered Transportation Trust Fund has to include money to extend the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail to Englewood.

The Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Line now ends in North Bergen, but officials have long pushed to have it extended into Bergen County.

Sweeney joined with Sens. Loretta Weinberg and Paul Sarlo, Assemblyman Gordon Johnson and Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle in pledging not to support any plan that doesn’t have the needed money to start the extension project.

Democrats in the Legislature have pledged to restore money to the trust fund.
