BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU has temporarily suspended a fraternity pending the outcome of an investigation involving the alleged use of controlled substances at the fraternity’s house and possible hazing.

WBRZ-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1NObFMr ) the investigation surrounds the Sigma Chi fraternity.

University spokesman Ernie Ballard says LSU placed the fraternity on an interim suspension pending an “advocacy and accountability investigation and organization accountability process.” He would not elaborate on the situation.

The suspension is detailed in a letter from Associate Dean of Students & Director D. Matthew Gregory to the fraternity. The suspension prohibits the chapter from hosting or participating in any social activities, including tailgating, exchanges, or parties on or off campus and conducting any meetings unless directed by the university to help with the investigation.
