ORANGE, Mass. (AP) - Authorities are investigating after a fire destroyed two recreational vehicle campers and a sport utility vehicle at a skydiving facility in western Massachusetts.

Orange fire investigator James Hopkins tells The Recorder (https://bit.ly/1NsLypZ ) the Wednesday morning fire at the Jumptown skydiving facility could have been a catastrophe since it happened about 25 feet away from a large tank of aviation fuel. No injuries were reported.

Hopkins says the fire ignited an empty camper, and swift winds helped blow the flames toward a row of about five other trailers.

A skydiving instructor in one of the trailers contacted authorities.

Orange Airport Operations Manager Bryan Camden says there was no damage to airport equipment or property. He says the fire didn’t affect airport activity.
