OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - An Oklahoma City attorney has pleaded guilty to traveling to Peru to have sex with a Peruvian girl younger than 18.

Court records show 60-year-old Michael Dean Billings entered the plea Thursday in U.S. District Court in Oklahoma and federal prosecutors dropped conspiracy charges against him. Billings wrote in the plea agreement that he traveled from Oklahoma City to Iquitos, Peru, from January 1, 2011 through February 21, 2013, and on one occasion he had an illegal sexual encounter with a girl who was not 18.

U.S. Attorney Sanford Coats said Billings faces up to 30 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and registration as a sex offender for life. Coats said a sentencing hearing will be set by the court in about 90 days.
