PHOENIX (AP) - A Phoenix woman has been accused of aggravated assault for allegedly driving impaired and causing an accident that critically injured another female motorist.
Phoenix police say 23-year-old Roxanne Kirk was taken into custody after the accident early Thursday.
They say additional charges are pending after tests showed Kirk’s blood-alcohol level was .141 percent, well above the state limit of 0.08 percent for drivers.
Bond was set at $35,000 for Kirk at her initial court appearance Thursday. She doesn’t have a lawyer yet.
Police say the Jeep that Kirk was driving on 19th Avenue crossed the road’s center line and collided with a van carrying a 27-year-old woman and her 7-year-old daughter.
Authorities say the woman had to be extricated from her vehicle and lost her left leg in the crash.
