LANSING, N.Y. (AP) - An accountant for a central New York engineering consulting firm has been charged with stealing nearly a quarter of a million dollars from her employer over eight years.

State police say 61-year-old Pamela Hinshaw, of Homer, was arrested Tuesday and charged with grand larceny, forgery and falsifying business records.

State police say they were informed in September that funds had been stolen from Advanced Design Consulting USA Inc., located in the Tompkins County town of Lansing, outside Ithaca.

Investigators say they determined that Hinshaw stole more than $240,000 from 2007 to 2015 by issuing herself checks from the business operating accounts and forging the owner’s signature.

She was sent to the county jail on $10,000 cash bail. A message left with her attorney Thursday wasn’t returned.
