PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Portland police arrested a motorist whose vehicle crashed through a woman’s bedroom wall Thursday.

Sgt. Pete Simpson says 24-year-old Jesse McCormick missed a corner in southeast Portland while speeding at 2:30 a.m. The vehicle struck a fence, a tree, the house and a shop building.

Simpson says the woman was not hurt. She got out of bed and walked to a different part of the house just moments before the vehicle hit the bedroom wall.

McCormick was booked into jail on charges of assault, criminal mischief, reckless driving and recklessly endangering another person.

A passenger in the vehicle was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
