SAN DIEGO (AP) - San Diego police are investigating after several razor blades were found in the grass and in a trash can at a playground in Balboa Park.

Officer Dino Delimitros says some of the blades found in the grass Wednesday appeared to have been deliberately placed.

The Union-Tribune newspaper reports (https://bit.ly/1MpFPRS) a child’s nanny noticed the razor blades in the trash can and called police.

More blades were then found by parks and recreation workers using metal detectors. The playground was closed and cordoned off with yellow police tape.

Delimitros says officers also checked several other parks in the area for razor blades, but found none.
