JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A Jacksonville teenager has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for a fatal shooting.

A Duval County judge sentenced the 17-year-old boy on Thursday. The Florida Times-Union (https://goo.gl/dowDXa ) reports that he pleaded guilty last month to second-degree murder.

Authorities say the teen was 15 years in old in March 2014 when he and two other men showed up uninvited to a party at the Eureka Garden apartments. Authorities say they pistol-whipped one man and then shot 22-year-old Christopher Alexander Cornelio.

Parham also pleaded guilty to aggravated battery in a separate case. He will serve 10 years for that conviction concurrently with his murder conviction.
