FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - A Tontitown man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole in the 2014 fatal stabbing of a woman.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/1Pq6cgb ) reports 20-year-old Brock Atkins pleaded guilty to capital murder and was sentenced in Washington County Circuit Court on Monday. According to prosecutors, Atkins stabbed Leann Frazier to death on May 21, 2014, at his home.

Authorities say Atkins told police that he killed Frazier after being threatened at gunpoint by another man, who suspected the victim of being an informant and had stolen drugs from him.

Charges of being an accomplice to capital murder were dropped against Lewis Hedges Jr., but he still faces a charge of hindering apprehension.

Hedges’ next appearance in court is scheduled for Nov. 17.
