ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Three Rochester teenagers are scheduled to be arraigned on charges stemming from last summer’s fatal shooting of a Nepalese refugee who was the married father of seven children.

Police announced Thursday that three male teens - ages 14, 16 and 18 - have been charged with second-degree murder in the July 19 slaying of 38-year-old Jit Mongar. All three teens are scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning in Rochester City Court.

Authorities say Mongar was at a convenience store on Lake Avenue late on the night of July 19 when he was shot during an attempted robbery. He later died at a hospital.

Family members say he arrived in the U.S. from Nepal two years ago and was working at an electronics recycling company in nearby Brockport to support wife and seven children.
