MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say two suspects have been arrested in connection with two separate fires at abandoned Myrtle Beach motels.

Police tell local media outlets that both fires happened early Thursday and were similar in nature and intentionally set.

Lt. Joey Crosby with Myrtle Beach police identified the suspects from city video cameras. Crosby says the names of the suspects haven’t been released.

Myrtle Beach Fire Department spokesman Lt. Christian Sliker says firefighters responded to the first fire about 3:30 a.m. at the Emerald Shores Motel. Sliker says firefighters saw smoke upon arrival but the fire was already out.

Authorities say firefighters and police responded to a second fire about 6:30 a.m. at the Carousel Motel and saw smoke when they arrived.

No injuries were reported.

The investigation continues.
