GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) - A body found east of Buffalo may be that of a 4-year-old girl who fell through ice in the Powder River in February.

The Gillette News Record reports (https://bit.ly/1ln2vLX ) that the Johnson County Coroner’s Office could not confirm that the body was that of Chevell Boshaw-Evans, but that a Facebook memorial page for the girl says the body has brought closure to the Chevell’s family.

A coroner’s office spokeswoman says identification of the body could take up to a week.

Chevell went missing Feb. 8 after she and her father fell through the ice. Police were able to help her father out of the water, but the girl was lost. Drones, a helicopter, airboats, cadaver dogs and a crew of rescue personnel and volunteers searched the area for weeks unable to find the girl.
