STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Most city services are up and running at Starkville City Hall as officials transition into their new location.

The Commercial Dispatch reports (https://bit.ly/1SpsHQ7) staffers began transferring into the new facility last week, and officials are now settling into the new building.

The $6.7 million project, which was born out of the decades-long attempt to construct a new police station, was completed this fall.

Starkville’s community development department and city clerk’s office are both open. Starkville Municipal Court is open for fine payments, but its first session isn’t scheduled until next week.

Now that most of the former administrative building’s functions have transitioned to City Hall, the Starkville Police Department will expand its operation out into the excess space.
