BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a Bozeman man who was killed when the pickup truck he was riding in went off a road south of Bozeman and hit a group of trees.

The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim Thursday as 21-year-old Micah Aafedt.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the crash happened just before 1 a.m. Monday on Hyalite Canyon Road, which was frosty at the time.

The 23-year-old man from Bozeman who was driving the truck was critically injured and was flown to St. Vincent Hospital in Billings for treatment. Aafedt died at the scene after the passenger side of the pickup slammed into a large tree.
