BRISTOL, R.I. (AP) - A diver pulled from the waters off Bristol has died.

The Department of Environmental Management says it got a call at about 8:40 a.m. Friday that a diver was in distress off Rumstick Point.

The DEM and Narragansett Bay Marine Task Force responded and found 42-year-old Kenneth Watkinson of Bristol.

Rescue crews brought him to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at about 9:50 a.m.

The DEM says the state medical examiner will determine Watkinson’s cause of death. The DEM is investigating.
