PHOENIX (AP) - The Federal Aviation Administration says no injuries were reported from laser illuminations of two commercial airliners headed for Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix.
FAA spokesman Ian Gregor says the incidents occurred Thursday night.
Gregor says Southwest flight 2521 was illuminated by a green laser at 4,000 feet about eight miles out from the airport at about 6:30 p.m.
He says American flight 671 was illuminated at 10,000 feet about 35 miles west southwest of Sky Harbor around 8 p.m.
Lasers are a concern for aircraft because they can blind a pilot.
