NORTH SALEM, N.Y. (AP) - A funeral has been held for the 83-year-old wife of a millionaire McDonald’s franchisee who police say was killed in the couple’s New York hilltop estate.

Family and friends gathered Friday morning for Lois Colley’s funeral in North Salem, in Westchester County.

The Journal News reports (https://lohud.us/1HHYb3A ) Colley’s son Bruce told mourners she was the “heart” of the family.

He said she was the “glue that kept us all together.”

A caretaker found Colley’s body Monday in the family’s home in North Salem. Police say she died of blunt force trauma and appeared to be the victim of a homicide.

Colley’s husband, Eugene, is known for his empire of roughly 100 McDonald’s restaurants. Police say he isn’t considered a suspect.

A $2,500 reward is being offered in the case.
