GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) - A Goodyear high school teacher accused of luring a minor for sexual exploitation has pleaded guilty to two counts of child abuse.

Maricopa County Superior Court officials say 31-year-old Jared Blackstone had a change of plea hearing Friday.

He had pleaded not guilty to the charges after he was arrested in May.

Blackstone’s sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 14.

Blackstone was taken into custody on May 7 after Goodyear police detectives served a search warrant on his home.

He had been teaching at Millennium High School. School administrators contacted police after the allegation surfaced.

Agua Fria School District officials say Blackstone was immediately removed from the classroom setting after his arrest.
