TULSA, Okla. (AP) - A burglary suspect has been arrested after Tulsa authorities say he punched a police dog several times and pulled an officer into a creek.

The Tulsa World (https://bit.ly/1Nv6pc9 ) reports a 37-year-old man was arrested Thursday on complaints of first-degree burglary, assaulting a police dog, assaulting an officer and resisting arrest.

Police say officers responded to a report about a man trying to force open the window and kick in a door of a home before the residents chased him away.

Authorities say officers located the suspect, who punched the dog in the head and body. According to police, another officer arrived and attempted to apprehend the man, but the suspect grabbed the officer’s left arm and pulled him into a creek. After a 10-minute struggle, the suspect was arrested.

It was not clear if the dog or officer were injured.
