PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a man was arrested after he crashed a stolen truck into a house, ran away and hid in a home across the street.

Residents of the damaged home weren’t injured when the truck smashed into a bedroom Friday morning, but homeowner Andy Gregory said it was a close call. He said he was lying in bed and the truck narrowly missed him.

Officer James Holmes said the driver fled on foot but officers searching the neighborhood found him in hiding in a closet in the other home after they got its occupants outside.

The man’s identity was not released immediately. Holmes said the man had a knee injury and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred near 16th Avenue and Broadway Road.
