HOLBROOK, Ariz. (AP) - Federal authorities say a man wanted in connection with a Texas homicide case has been arrested in northern Arizona.

U.S. Marshals Service officials say 39-year-old David Wayne Bethel was taken into custody Thursday evening after a five-hour standoff at a hotel in the Holbrook area.

Authorities say Bethel’s cousin already is in custody in connection with the deaths of a man and woman on Oct. 31 in east Lubbock County.

Lubbock County Sheriff’s officials say they developed information Bethel was allegedly involved in the case and a warrant for his arrest was issued Nov. 6.

Federal authorities learned Bethel had fled to Arizona and he was arrested by Navajo County police and state troopers.

Bethel has been booked into the Navajo County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Texas.
