THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - Lafourche Parish sheriff’s deputies say a Thibodaux double-homicide suspect faces new charges after he caused a toilet to overflow and damaged property inside the jail.

Sgt. Brennan Matherne tells The Daily Comet (https://bit.ly/1MMQ2qB) 22-year-old Alfred Starks faces two counts of simple criminal damage to property and one count of criminal mischief.

Starks is also charged with two counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of 19-year-old Tre Scott and 26-year-old Jordy Williams. Police arrested Starks on Sept. 25, 2013, after the two men were found shot to death in a car.

Matherne says officers at the jail saw water on the floor coming from a cell block Tuesday and found that Starks had intentionally caused the toilet in his cell to overflow.
