RENO, Nev. (AP) - Nevada police say a man was recently arrested after being found hiding in a dumpster following a high-speed chase.

Washoe County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy patrolling the Sun Valley area Wednesday tried to pull over a vehicle that had been reported stolen, but the driver sped away.

Authorities say the driver lost control, nearly hit a car when he ran a red light, stopped his car on the sidewalk and ran away.

After searching, deputies and Reno police say they found the 37-year-old man in a dumpster behind a local business, clutching a realistic-looking pellet gun.

Deputies say he had an outstanding felony warrant for burglary and was taken to the Washoe County Detention Facility.
