MONROE, Wash. (AP) - A 17-year-old girl was killed and four others were injured in a high-speed crash on Highway 2 near Monroe.

KOMO-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1H0GV9V ) that the crash occurred Thursday night when a speeding car ran off the rain-slick highway.

Washington State Patrol says the 18-year-old male driver was speeding and possibly on drugs at the time of the crash. He sustained minor injuries and will be arrested for investigation of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault when he is released from the hospital.

Troopers say it appeared the car veered off the roadway and crashed. High speed was a major factor in the crash.
