PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Police in Rhode Island say they have arrested a suspect in the murder of an 85-year-old woman in her apartment 25 years ago.

Police say 59-year-old David A. Roscoe was arrested Wednesday at his workplace in Westerly.

Roscoe is charged with murder in the death of Germaine Mouchon, who was found dead in West Warwick in 1990.

West Warwick police say they reopened the case this summer after Mouchon’s grandson inquired about it.

Evidence collected at the scene was retested.

The Providence Journal reports that police say that because of advances in DNA technology, a DNA sample can now be matched to Roscoe.

Roscoe was ordered held without bail. It’s unclear if he’s represented by a lawyer.
