LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A man who prosecutors say was the ringleader of a drug trafficking ring in West Memphis has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Thirty-three-year-old Rafael McDaniel of West Memphis was sentenced Friday in federal court in Little Rock.

McDaniel was convicted in March on charges of conspiracy, two counts of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime.

McDaniel was one of 20 people arrested as part of an investigation called “Operation Delta Crossroads” conducted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the FBI, Arkansas State Police and West Memphis police.
