BRENTWOOD, N.Y. (AP) - A pedestrian has been killed in an early morning crash on Long Island.

Suffolk County Police say the unidentified man was struck by a car while walking on Second Avenue in Brentwood at about 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

The pedestrian was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the car was not injured. His vehicle was impounded for a safety check. The investigation is continuing.
