IRVING, Texas (AP) - A 2.4 magnitude earthquake has hit the Dallas area in the midst of stormy weather.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the small quake rattled the Irving area at 9:09 p.m. CST Sunday. The quake was centered about 2 miles north-northwest of Irving.

The Dallas Morning News reports (https://bit.ly/1Mwxxre ) the temblor was about the area’s 88th in the past year. The most recent one beforehand was a 2.2 magnitude earthquake Nov. 3.

Officials say Sunday’s minor earthquake was felt in Irving and Dallas, as temperatures were in the 50s with scattered rain.
