TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A man who fled Arizona before his conviction in a sex case has been extradited from Canada.

U.S. Marshals Service officials say 58-year-old George Ross Wilcox was booked into a Phoenix jail last weekend and now awaits a transfer to Pima County for his sentencing.

Authorities say Wilcox was charged with four counts of sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 15 while living in Sahuarita.

Wilcox was arrested by a federal task force in Phoenix in 2008 and later released on a $100,000 bond.

He failed to appear for his June 2009 trial and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

Wilcox was subsequently tried in absentia and convicted on two counts of sexual conduct with a minor.

Federal authorities say Wilcox was arrested in Calgary.
