PRESIDIO, Texas (AP) - A 44-year-old woman from Mexico has been taken into custody by Customs and Border Protection officers as she tried to cross the border at Presidio in West Texas in a van filled with 144 bundles of marijuana.

Customs officials say the 161 pounds of pot worth nearly $130,000 was stuffed into the van’s fuel tank, rear quarter panels and dashboard.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was alone in the van Saturday when an officer questioning her at the inspection station said there were inconsistencies in her travel itinerary and moved her to another area for a more thorough inspection of her van.

An X-ray exam of the van showed anomalies and a drug dog alerted the presence of narcotics.
