LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say they’ve arrested 32-year-old Kelvin James in connection with the stabbing death of a woman in a Fremont Street apartment last month less than a mile from the popular Las Vegas-area tourist corridor.

Las Vegas Police said Monday that James faces a murder charge. He was arrested after police responded to reports of a prowler near the Sam’s Town casino-hotel. Detectives had been looking for James since the Oct. 23 death of 48-year-old Elizabeth Renee Green in a Siegel Suites apartment that may have been a result of domestic violence.

Officer Laura Meltzer says James had dated Green. James doesn’t appear to be represented by an attorney yet and could not be reached for comment. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center Monday.
