COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ohio Gov. John Kasich (KAY’-sik) plans to return the early voting state of Iowa this week as he campaigns for the White House.
Kasich’s campaign says the Republican governor will tape an interview in Johnston on Monday and then appear at an employee town hall at Nationwide Insurance in Des Moines. On Tuesday, he plans to talk at a town hall in Dubuque before heading to an event in Mobile, Alabama.
Kasich recently put a leadership team in place in Iowa. The group includes 28 current and former public officials and business and community leaders.
Kasich is still looking to break out of the crowded Republican presidential field. In the debate last week, he criticized many of the policy proposals emerging from his GOP rivals as ill-conceived and unworkable.
