DUCHESNE, Utah (AP) - A fire has destroyed a Duchesne shop belonging to man who carves wooden toys for charity.

KSL-TV in Salt Lake City reports (https://bit.ly/1Lua9cj) that the blaze started around 3 p.m. Saturday inside Don Mckee’s toy and gift shop.

Duchesne County Sheriff’s spokesman Jeremy Curry says McKee was putting wood into a wood-burning stove in the shop when the fire got out of control.

McKee was able to escape uninjured.

Curry says the shop, however, is pretty much a complete loss.

McKee’s nearby home was not damaged.

McKee is known for making toys to give to charities such as Sub for Santa.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for McKee with a goal of raising $25,000.

It has received more than $2,700 in donations as of Sunday morning.
