DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach wants to help its faculty, students and alumni get funding with fewer hassles.

So, the aviation-oriented school has launched a crowdfunding website to help them raise money for research projects.

School officials said last week that the website can be used for any great idea or project.

They say it will help educational and research initiatives get funding if those projects are short on time and money.

Among the projects seeking funds are a student team building a rocket and engineering students trying to redesign a Chevrolet Camaro into a hybrid-electric vehicle.
