MARSHFIELD, Wis. (AP) - A Vesper man has died after a pickup crashed into the horse-drawn wagon he was riding in.

A spokesman for Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield tells Daily Herald Media (https://wdhne.ws/21c5tDp ) the man died at the hospital.

The man and a 10-year-old boy were thrown from the wagon when it was hit. The spokesman says the boy remains in critical condition.

The two were airlifted to the hospital Friday evening. The Wood County Sheriff’s Department says the wagon they were in was traveling north on a county road in the town of Hansen when it was hit from behind by a pickup truck.

The 31-year-old Necedah man driving the pickup did not require medical treatment. The names of the victims have not been released.
