ABERDEEN, Md. (AP) - Harford County police say they have arrested a suspect accused of assaulting a man and his teenage son with a baseball bat in Aberdeen.

Police say officers were called to the 100 block of Hanover Street for a report of an assault around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Police say suspects were detained as they tried to flee the scene in a minivan, and police ultimately arrested 30-year-old Matthew Vanreenen on assault charges.

Police say Vanreenen attacked a 14-year-old boy and his father because of an ongoing dispute between the two families.

The boy suffered bruising on his left thigh from the baseball bat beating while his father suffered facial injuries after being punched.
