POMONA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say two Pomona police officers were hospitalized after their patrol car was struck by a suspected drunken driver during a routine traffic stop.

Sgt. William Tucker says the officers’ conditions were not immediately known following the crash late Saturday on Mission Boulevard.

Tucker says the officers were pulling over a suspected drunken driver when their marked patrol car was struck by a vehicle heading east.

The driver of that vehicle was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

City News Service reports Sunday that investigators are asking any potential witnesses to the collision to come forward.
