CLEVELAND (AP) - Some people in northern Ohio are getting this season’s first dose of wintry weather.

Lake-effect snow bands hit communities in northeast Ohio, with an advisory in effect for snow-belt counties through Sunday night.

The National Weather Service says the snow bands could dump 2 to 5 inches in some areas. It warned motorists to be ready for rapid changes in weather conditions in northeast Ohio.

Snow and cold Saturday evening caused treacherous driving conditions in parts of northwest Ohio. Other states in the Midwest have had harsh cold and heavier snowfalls this weekend.
