NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - One person has died and two others were hurt in a drive-by shooting in North Charleston.

Police told local media outlets that officers were called around 2 a.m. Sunday by a report that two vehicles were on a city street, with those inside shooting at each other.

Officers found the two vehicles wrecked a short time later. They say the front-seat passenger in a car died from gunshot wounds. The Charleston County coroner’s office says the victim was 28-year-old Franklin Williams Jr.

Two other people in the car were hurt. Their names have not been released.

Police said they found illegal drugs and weapons in the car.

Officers are working to identify the people in the second vehicle. No arrests have been made.
