LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State Police say they will join police across the nation to have a law enforcement presence at least every twenty miles on Interstate 40 from California to North Carolina during the Thanksgiving holiday week.

The law enforcement chain along the interstate will present from Thursday through Sunday.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/1Nni6ri ) reports that AAA anticipates nearly 47 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles for the holiday. That is a 0.6 percent increase from last year.

The North Little Rock Police Department says they will be stepping up their enforcement of checking for motorists not wearing seatbelts as part of the national Click It or Ticket campaign.

The Little Rock Police Department and the Pulaski County sheriff’s office said their departments do not plan on doing any special enforcement for the holiday.
