FLORENCE, S.C. (AP) - State authorities are looking for an inmate who escaped from the Palmer Pre-Release Center in Florence County.

The South Carolina Department of Corrections tells media outlets 26-year-old Seth Allen Grooms escaped Sunday evening. He was serving a five-year sentence for second-degree burglary. Apprehension efforts are now underway.

Grooms is a white male with medium build, brown eyes and black hair. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 215 pounds. Grooms has a tribal skull and dream catcher tattoo on his left arm.

Anyone with information on Grooms’ whereabouts is encouraged to call toll-free Fugitive Apprehension Unit number at 877-349-2130 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. After 5 p.m., dial 803-896-2258, or contact local law enforcement.
