BENSON, N.C. (AP) - A Benson woman has died after being struck by a train near her home.

The Benson Police Department said in a news release that 33-year-old Melissa Brooker Boucher was struck by a freight train at about 6 p.m. Friday.

The release says police have interviewed CSX personnel and reviewed the on-board video, and determined Boucher was on the tracks when she was struck. Police Chief Kenneth Edwards says police do not suspect foul play and the death has been ruled as accidental.
