INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - First lady Karen Pence is encouraging Indiana residents to take a tour of the governor’s residence during the upcoming holiday season.

She says she and Gov. Mike Pence are helping to kick-off the Indiana Bicentennial Celebration by incorporating the state colors, blue and gold, into this year’s festive holiday decorations.

The house along Meridian Street on the north side of Indianapolis has more than 20 rooms and sits on about six acres. The mansion was built in 1928.

Tours of the governor’s residence are available by advance reservation only and last about an hour. There are a total of 23 tours available starting on Dec. 2 and running through Dec. 18.
