BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - Mississippi police say a California man has been arrested in a scheme to pass a bad check at the Golden Nugget Casino.

Biloxi police Sgt. Donnie Dobbs tells The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/1lEaSmf) Hung Phong Vinh Bui of Westminster, California, was arrested Saturday on the charge of false pretense.

Dobbs says Bui attempted to pass a $50,000 cashier’s check at the casino for a line of credit but it was discovered the check had already been redeemed at another casino.

Bui was taken to the Harrison County jail on a $100,000 bond set by Harrison County Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for Bui.
