ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York’s Gaming Commission is scheduled to meet but the four casinos awaiting formal licensure may have to wait a little longer.

The agenda for Monday’s meeting in New York City does not include a vote on the awarding of the casino licenses.

The Commission has said it intends to issue the licenses by year’s end - which would be a full year after a state casino location board endorsed the gambling facilities.

Before the commission can award the licenses it had to conduct background checks on casino owners, draft regulations and review the final details of the projects.

Four casinos are planned for locations in the Catskills, the Finger Lakes, Schenectady and the Southern Tier.
