CLEVELAND (AP) - Cleveland’s location as the home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has been incorporated into the logo for the 2016 Republican National Convention.

Cleveland.com (https://bit.ly/1I6u1Hz ) reports the logo for the convention scheduled July 18-21 in the city was unveiled Monday. It features a red elephant that symbolizes the GOP walking atop a blue outline of an electric guitar with three inset white stars.

Cleveland-based Falls Communications designed the logo. Firm owner Rob Falls says it follows the GOP’s design criteria of incorporating the city’s name and year of the convention with a patriotic, American motif.

Steve King is the leader of the GOP committee that is organizing the convention. He says the logo will be prominently displayed in all official convention-related materials and communications.
