RYE BROOK, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the deaths of two men in suburban New York as possible carbon monoxide poisoning.

Police say an elderly man and a younger man were found dead in a Westchester County home on Maywood Avenue in Rye Brook at about 3 p.m. Monday.

A family member told The Journal News (https://lohud.us/1NoiMg7 ) the pair were found dead in their beds. The paper says a car belonging to one of the victims was parked in an attached garage and had run out of gas and had a dead battery.

Authorities have not released the identities of the victims.

The Centers for Disease Control says carbon monoxide poisoning kills about 400 Americans each year and sends another 20,000 to emergency rooms.
