RENO, Nev. (AP) - Authorities say a shooting and an apartment fire in a south Reno neighborhood might be linked.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Bob Harmon says Reno police officers responded to reports of a shooting on Sunday afternoon. He says there was a shooting involving police and the suspect was killed.

Harmon says two other men were hospitalized and the Sheriff’s Office is investigating the relationship between the suspect and those men.

Authorities say there are no outstanding suspects.

Reno Fire Department division chief Tim Spencer says a fire started at a nearby multi-family structure during the shooting. He says firefighters had to wait for Reno police and SWAT teams to clear the area.

Spencer says the events could be related.

Red Cross volunteers helped the building’s residents.
