ROYAL CITY, Wash. (AP) - The Grant County Sheriff’s Office is suspending its search for a bow hunter missing near Crab Creek in Royal City.

Officials say the search for 55-year-old Mark Stieg is suspended until further notice due to expected cold weather and snow Monday night and Tuesday.

Stieg left his home in North Bend early Friday for a one-day hunt. Stieg’s family says he is an experienced mountaineer and survivalist, as well as a former marine.

Police located Stieg’s black truck, but said he has not made contact. About 100 searchers have combed the area near where Stieg’s truck was found to no avail.

If weather permits, military aircraft from Spokane may fly over the area Tuesday using infrared cameras.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts to call 911 or 509-762-1160.
